About the Journal
Universitas Research Journal is an international, multidisciplinary, open-access scholarly journal published by AsesoresEducativos SAS in Ecuador. It welcomes original research, review articles, case studies and academic work in education, social sciences, administration and economics, technology and innovation, communication, health sciences, environmental sciences and related fields.
Publication model
The journal publishes continuously within two formal semiannual issues: January–June and July–December. Articles are published individually after completing editorial review, peer review, editing, production and proof approval.
Open access, copyright and fees
All content is immediately available without embargo or reader registration. The journal charges no submission, evaluation or article processing fees (no APCs). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal first-publication rights. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
Peer review
Submissions undergo an initial editorial screening and, when suitable, double-anonymous peer review by at least two independent specialists as a general rule. Decisions may be accept, minor revision, major revision and re-review, or reject. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed, and submissions by editors or publisher-affiliated authors receive no preferential treatment.
Research integrity
Manuscripts must be original and not under concurrent review elsewhere. Plagiarism, deceptive self-plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, image or citation manipulation, guest or ghost authorship, and redundant publication are prohibited. Authorship requires substantial contribution, approval of the final version and accountability; CRediT contribution statements are requested. Funding, competing interests, data availability, ethics approval and consent must be declared when applicable.
Artificial intelligence
AI tools cannot be authors. Any substantive use of generative or assisted AI must be disclosed, including the tool and purpose. Authors remain responsible for accuracy, originality, citations, permissions, privacy and integrity. Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or reports to AI services without appropriate safeguards and editorial authorization.
Corrections and complaints
The journal may issue corrections, retractions or expressions of concern to protect the scholarly record. Appeals must identify a relevant factual or procedural error. Allegations and complaints are handled confidentially, without retaliation against good-faith reporters.
Privacy and preservation
Personal data are processed for editorial management, publication, security and legal compliance under applicable Ecuadorian data-protection law. The journal uses essential cookies and technical logs. Operational backups will be maintained; participation in an external preservation network will only be announced after activation and verification.
